The black TB-16 59/Custom Hybrid Trembucker from Seymour Duncan is a bridge humbucker pickup with a wide pole piece spacing for symmetrical positioning under the strings of guitars with a tremolo or wide-spaced hardtail bridge (2" or wider from the center of the Low E to High E directly over the bridge pickup). Like the SH-16 59/Custom Hybrid, the TB-16 is a harmonically rich hybrid bridge pickup that uses one coil from the 59 Model neck and one coil from the higher-output Duncan Custom model, which results in a medium-output gritty sound with sparkly upper midrange harmonic content. With the mismatched coils and the alnico 5 bar magnet, the TB-16 offers a tight low end and a grinding midrange well suited for rock and metal players. When split, the 59 offers the classic single-coil sound. The TB-16 also features a nickel-silver bottom plate, a 4-conductor lead wire for multiple wiring options, and is vacuum wax potted for squeal-free performance. The 59/Custom Hybrid is carefully hand-built in Santa Barbara, CA.
